And here I got all excited when he said to climb into the left seat. On the fixed wing side, that usually means you are pilot in command. Alas, not only were there no controls on my side, but my headset uses a different jack then the whirly bird. Always fun, however, to fly that low around town.

Got to do do a quick joy ride. Buzzed my in-laws party and took a couple aerial shots of our house.

Apparently my little one was paying attention to the video and photos I had downloaded off the camera. One thing that caught her eye was the helicopter ride. She wanted to do such a thing, realized her (local) uncle flew helicopters for a living, and made it happen while I was off on a work trip. (She even got fly up front) /me jealous....

I created a demo for a customer a couple weeks back, and one of the other Sales guys realized it was exactly what he needed, zero changes.  Could I show it?  Sure.   Let me know when to set up a Webex...  Minor problem with connectivity... can it run on a laptop?  Of course it does!

Then I get the 'deal breaker' details.  Ah, well, you will need to fly up to Vancouver, catch a float plane, then a helicopter....

What a cool gig.  Started off on a de Havilland Canada DHC-3 Otter (in picture) and a Sikorsky S76A helicopter (will see if I can get the video clip off the mobile).  I've flown in some really scary commuters (Aeroflot - I'm looking at you), but both these birds were just a joy to fly in.  What a fun trip.  Less than 48 hours to get to the edge of the world and back home again!
